Slezský Grunt is a cosy Silesian restaurant in Smolkov, near Háj ve Slezsku, a short drive between Ostrava and Opava. Guests come here for a homely atmosphere, tiled stoves, friendly staff and home-style Silesian cooking made from local ingredients.
The menu focuses on home-style regional dishes, seasonal specials and a good choice of drinks, including draught beer. With around 30 seats, modern sound system, projector and step-free access, the restaurant works well for everyday lunches and dinners, as well as smaller family celebrations and get-togethers in the Moravian-Silesian region.
Upstairs there is a hall for up to 35 people with its own bar – a great fit for smaller wedding receptions, company parties, conferences, training sessions or family events. In the summer, guests can sit in the courtyard terrace with about 30 seats or in the quiet front garden under the plane trees, popular with cyclists and families with children.
Part of the grounds is the multi-purpose space “Konírna”, used for bigger events, weddings, corporate functions, concerts or theatre performances. Children have their own corner with toys, a changing table, ride-on toys, board games and highchairs, so the whole family can enjoy their time at Slezský Grunt in peace.
Parking for about 5–7 cars is available directly in the yard, which is monitored by cameras, and additional parking is roughly 80 metres from Slezský Grunt near the Ludmila retirement home. Cyclists can use wooden stands for hanging their bikes.
Payments are possible in cash or by card – VISA, MASTERCARD and MAESTRO are accepted (card payments from 200 CZK). Gift vouchers are available in several values for dining or drinks, with a validity of four months from the date of issue.
